Owned Clothing Boutique

Irene Bush Sorkin, 83, former owner of the Nanny's Place children's clothing boutique, died Aug. 29 at the Greenwood House Home for the Jewish Aged in Ewing, N.J. She was formerly of Lower Moreland.

Sorkin, who opened the boutique with daughter-in-law Patti Sorkin in the mid-1970s, remained in business for 10 years at the Village Shopping Center in Huntingdon Valley.

Before starting the clothing business, Sorkin worked as a secretary for a local builder, and then as a furniture-store saleswoman at Marshall's Furniture Stores, which was owned by her son, Richard Sorkin.

In addition to him, Sorkin is survived by daughter Adrienne Santacroce; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Max Sorkin, who died in 2002; son Kenneth Sorkin, in 1971; and son J. Robert, in January.
