Not Just a Walk in the Park

Count on Friends: That’s the message those in love with Rittenhouse Square know they can rely on. The Friends of Rittenhouse Square’s 22nd annual Ball on The Square — which raised oodles of moolah for what is adoringly described as a“six-acre urban oasis” — was the park place to be for such luminaries as those at left and below. FRS prexy Wendy Rosen proudly cites the neighborhood surrounding the famous hip square as being No. 6 of its kind as rated by the Project for Public Spaces. The park is used to being in the spotlight; indeed, a movie about it was recently shown at the Philadelphia Film Festival. And, if you listen closely, you can hear the leaves rustling and whispering, “I’m ready for my close-up.”
