Stanley B. Becker, 82, a dentist who practiced in Delaware County for 35 years, died Dec. 29. He was a resident of Monroe Township, N.J.
Becker graduated from Central High School, Temple University's School of Liberal Arts and its School of Dentistry. After graduation, he served at the 3201st United States Air Force Hospital, Eglin Air Force Base in Florida, and remained in the reserves.
He taught prosthetics at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University, collectively, for 20 years.
A member of the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association and the Chester/Delaware County Dental Society, he became a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry in 1971.
A founding member of the Optimist Club of Springfield, he also served on Congregation Beth El-Suburban's school board and was its Thursday evening minyan captain for 15 years. He was honored by the Chapel of the Four Chaplains for community service.
Becker is survived by his wife, Ruth Becker; a daughter; two sons; a sister; and four grandchildren.
