RUTH MARCUS (nee POLSKY) died on December 16, 2013. She resided in Center City Philadelphia. Wife of the late HERMAN MARCUS; loving mother of DR. DALE MARCUS (DR. PAUL) SNYDERMAN and JEFFREY MARCUS; beloved grandmother of JOEL (POLINA) SNYDERMAN and KAREN (JASON) HOROWITZ; and great-grandmother of MICHAELA BLAIR HOROWITZ. Born in Philadelphia on August 15, 1923 to the late EVA and ABRAHAM POLSKY, she was the sister of the late Jean Lerner. RUTH worked at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard (an original "Rosie The Riveter") and then as a secretary during World War II. During her marriage she worked as a saleswoman as well as a housewife. RUTH was an outgoing friendly woman who loved her family and enjoyed her friends. She had the remarkable ability to make a friend within a minute of meeting someone new.
