H. Ronald Klasko, founding partner of Klasko, Rulon, Stock & Seltzer, LLP, has been named chair of the EB-5 Investor Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association,
a position he has held three previous times.

Arlene Fickler has been named president of the board of Temple Beth Zion-Beth Israel. An attorney, she is a partner with Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP.

Sol H. Weiss of Anapol Schwartz has been named one of Philadelphia’s best in the field of Plaintiffs’ Mass Tort and Class Actions in Best Lawyers
in America® 2014.

Seth Moskowitz has been promoted from manager to senior manager of ParenteBeard, a financial firm, while Jeremy Schwartz has moved up from senior accountant to manager.

David E. Schenkman was named second-place winner in the 2013 Wayte and Olga Raymond ­Memorial Literary Award contest for numismatic articles for his story on “The Numismatic Legacy of S.D. Childs, ” which appeared last October in The Numismatist.

Dr. D. Walter Cohen, chancellor emeritus of Drexel University College of Medicine, will be saluted at the 20th anniversary celebration of the school’s Institute for Women’s Health and Leadership from Sept. 16-28.

Stewart Weintraub of Chamberlain Hrdlicka has been honored by Best Lawyers in America® 2014 in the section of Philadelphia Litigation & Controversy/Tax Lawyer of the Year.  Weintraub also has been voted in as council director of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association for 2013-14.

Liza Seltzer, a health care industry executive, has been added to the board of the Maternity Care Coalition.

Dr. Susan Domchek, executive director of the Basser Research Center for BRCA, as well as an oncologist at the U of P’s Abramson Cancer Center, and Rabbi Jill L. Maderer of Congregation Rodeph Shalom will serve as keynote speakers at next month’s symposium/conclave dealing with the link between the BRCA cancer gene and Ashkenazi women. The gathering, a partnership between the Basser Research Center and Living Beyond Breast Cancer, will begin Oct. 6 at Rodeph Shalom.

Mitch Nathanson of the Villanova University School of Law faculty is penning a book on Destiny and Defiance: The Inevitable Tragedy of Dick Allen for the University of Pennsylvania Press. Nathanson is a frequent writer on sports issues.

Andres Israel, class of 2012, Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., has been named director of Hillel Uruguay in his native country. While studying at Dickinson, Israel was committed to Israeli and Jewish activities, including serving as vice president of the school’s branch of Hillel.

Michelle Zei, a senior majoring in journalism at Temple U., won “Best in Show” for her photo of a West Bank site shared by Israelis and Palestinians entering through different portals. The honor came at the Re-Imagining Borders Contest held at the University of San Diego’s Trans-Border Institute.
