Diane and Jonathan Edelman of Merion joyfully announce the marriage of their daughter, Melanie Penneys Edelman, to Joseph T. Young, son of Lois Pekala Arrowsmith and Craig Arrowsmith of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Joseph E. Young Jr. and Macy DeSautel Young of New Hope.
The ceremony and reception took place on May 25, 2014, at Vie in Philadelphia.
Rabbis Rex Perlmeter and Rachel Hertzman officiated.
Jacqueline Edelman, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Thomas Wurfel, close friend of the groom, was the best man.
The wedding party included bridesmaids Bailey Bigler, Jennifer Bronstein, Margaret Bush, Kate DiLullo, Mariel Giannetta, Gabrielle Groh, Remy Groh, Alissa Gubitoso, Ilana Kamens, Allison LoPreto, Hailey Luehrs, Brooke Magariello, Laura Meinster, and Jacqueline Niedbala; junior bridesmaids Madison Young and Olivia Young; and flower girls Vanessa Hurgunow and Avery Hurgunow.
The wedding party also included groomsmen Eric Biscow, Benjamin Edelman, Zachary Foutch, Matthew Gittlen, Tyler Glassman, John Golembiowski, Daniel Hyatt, Michael Lauria, Eric Markovich, and Robert Pfender; junior groomsmen William Exley and Louis Exley; and ringbearer Dylan Young.
Grandparents Alan and Rhoda Edelman, Lois Pekala, and Catherine Young also participated in the wedding procession.
The bride worked for the Jewish Relief Agency following her graduation from Penn State. She is currently a third-year student at Drexel University School of Law. The groom, also a graduate of Penn State, was a regional sales manager for Construction Specialties, Inc. He is currrently franchisee of Dunkin Donuts in Bucks County.
The couple, who resides in Philadelphia, will honeymoon in Australia, Papau New Guinea and Fiji later this summer.
