Torah Academy of Greater Philadelphia has hired a new head of school who will begin in the summer.

Rabbi Isaac Entin currently serves as principal of Phoenix Hebrew Academy in Arizona, where he has been since 2005. Priorto that, he worked at the Torah Day School of Virginia in Portsmouth.

Torah Academy’s current principal, Rabbi Shmuel Jablon, who has been at the school since 2008, announced in August that he would leave his position at the end of the academic year. A search committee at the kindergarten through eighth grade school in Wynnewood interviewed more than 30 candidates, according to a news release.

“Torah Academy is very excited about our new Head of School,”  Ari Weintraub, president of the Torah Academy school board, wrote in an email.

“Rabbi Entin is an experienced and accomplished educator, leader, speaker, mentor and innovator with a dynamic personality who relates well to students, faculty, parents and community members.”

Torah Academy isn’t the only Orthodox Jewish day school on the Main Line to recently replace its leader.

Kohelet Yeshiva High School hired Rabbi Gil Perl after the abrupt departure of Rabbi Elchanan Jay Weinbach, who left for personal reasons in November. Perl is slated to assume his post this summer.
