Leon Idas, born on Athens, Greece, passed away on April 12, 2013 in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Leon survived the Holocaust as a member of the Underground Resistance in Greece. He proudly told his story to the Shoah Project. After the war Leon came to the United States and began a life in Baltimore. He married and had three children as well as a successful vintage clothing business. He is survived by his second wife, Ellie (nee Zales) as well as, his children, Sam Idas (Carole), David Idas, and Judy (Jerry) Novick. He was a proud grandfather to Sophie and Max Novick, Max and Charlotte Idas, and Bianca Idas. Leon's funeral and burial will be held in Samos, Greece.
