Fundraising, fashions and a festive lunch filled the bill when Women's Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia held its annual Federation Allied Jewish Appeal Day at the Green Valley Country Club on June 2.

At the event, more than $186,000 was raised by the 130 women who attended for Federation's 2005 annual campaign, which reaches out to help the local and worldwide Jewish community.

Sharon Faulkner, a photo journalist who works with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, gave a slide presentation showing the work of the organization with elderly men and women in the former Soviet Union.

Nancy Astor Fox, chair of Federation's Center for Social Responsibility, updated guests on the annual campaign and the work of the center.

After lunch, club members modeled the latest fashions from First Impressions in Lafayette Hills.
