Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer—What You Need to Know

Did you know that 1 in 40 individuals of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry carries a BRCA mutation? During this free community outreach event, Rebecca Mueller, MS, CGC, CCRC of the University of Pennsylvania’s Basser Research Center for BRCA, will help you learn who is at risk for carrying a BRCA gene mutation as well as explain the process of genetic counseling, including the criteria for, and insurance coverage of, the testing. This program is a partnership between LBBC and the University of Pennsylvania’s Basser Research Center for BRCA.
