Expansion & Renovation Project Topping Off Ceremony

May 28, 2014 6:30 PM

“Topping off”is the tradition of placing the last beam atop the new construction. Congregation Rodeph Shalom will commemorate the official “topping off” on Wednesday, May 28 at 5:30pm. This “topping off”  marks the conclusion of the steelwork. The pinnacle of the topping off ceremony will take place when the final piece of steel, painted and signed by all of us in attendance, is hoisted into place and secured by the ironworkers. The tradition includes placing an evergreen tree and an American flag at the top of the structure.
