Scribe Rabbi Moshe Klein of New York is joined by the Cooks of Congregation B'nai Abraham: Sally, Shira and Leo.

Congregation B’nai Abraham brought in expert scribe Rabbi Moshe Klein of New York to begin writing a new Torah scroll as throngs of congregants watched. The actual handwritten creation of a Torah is an ancient art celebrated as a joyous occasion.

The congregation in Society Hill knows from history — it was founded 140 years ago by Russian Jews escaping the terrors of Czar Alexander II. The building on Lombard Street has housed the congregation since 1910.
