Center City Beit Midrash

May 13, 2014 7:00 AM-7:45 AM

Have you ever wanted to explore the foundational texts of the Jewish tradition, but didn't know where to start? Then join with old friends and new for the inaugural season of the non-denominational Center City Beit Midrash! Beginning February 4, all of Center City is invited to be part of an on-going Jewish learning community. Join us every Tuesday morning between 7–7:45 am for breakfast and traditional text study with chevruta (study partners,) led by rotating rabbis from a range of perspectives, including Rabbi Stone, Rabbi Albert Gabbai, Rabbi Joel Seltzer, Rabbi Sue Levi Elwell, and Rabbi Helen Plotkin.

Each rabbi will select a text for a period of four to five weeks' (five meetings) guided study. In this way, participants will be exposed to a variety of texts and ideas. Some knowledge of Hebrew is recommended, but texts will be provided both in the original and in English translation.

Dates: The Beit Midrash will meet for 45 minutes every Tuesday morning at 7 am between February 4–June 17:

• February 4, 11, 18, 25

• March 4, 11, 18, 25

• April 1, 8, 29 (no classes April 15th and 22nd)

• May 6, 13, 20, 27

• June 3, 10, 17, 24
